so few words... went to the metropolitan museum of art in nyc last night... pictures must be posted... can't express the amazingness, but will say this for now:

chuck close is astonishing. islamic art continues to fascinate me. and i have serious self-control issues when it comes to taking photographs and buying art books. more soon!

i am chillin at the four seasons with my "cousin" tahira and we decided that my father is just like cliff huxtable (bill cosby's character in the cosby show).

went to a gallery earlier and i was "recognized" for the first time. that's awesome in an extraordinarily dorky way. but i'm bragging regardless. that's how i get my kicks.

let's get personal...

i'm trying something different. i'm trying to stop doing relatively impersonal florals and mexican folkloric images and move into more personal and emotional territory. bear with me. this is the second such piece i've done, at the end of a rocky relationship. after being angry and hurt and bitter (the original painting said simply, "REMEMBER: he's a liar, liar, LIAR"), i was finally at peace with what happened. i'm gonna chalk it up to experience and move on. no regrets, just a lesson learned. and a pretty little painting. lyrics misheard from canadian band stars' "your ex-lover is dead" from the album Set Yourself on Fire.
